Start building up your online reputation.

LinkedIn is a great way to market yourself and you can use your profile like a professional resume and business card. I noticed that your LinkedIn profile is blank, so this is a good place to start. Not everybody is on LinkedIn, so I suggest a company Facebook page as well. If you enter your address on your Facebook company profile, the Review tap becomes available.

Yelp is a great place for an insurance agent to start building up reviews. Don’t be afraid of using your home address if you work from home; this is normal these days. Call up past customers and ask for reviews and referrals. I find the best way to get feedback is to call a customer.

Finding customers at the exact time they are ready to buy is nearly impossible, so I find it best to be top of mind when they need an agent. The best way to do this is to build up your social network using LinkedIn, Yelp, and Facebook.
