Why I’m Happy With eMoney

It’s sometimes hard to find a piece of technology that meets all the benefits promised by its maker, and about which I can become as excited as I am about a particular recent subscription. That software is eMoney and in this post I’d like to elaborate on a few of its capabilities as I am becoming more familiar with this incredible tool.

If you’ve been reading my posts for any length of time, you’ll know that I began to search for a comprehensive financial planning application to replace my existing tool. My criteria was simple. It needed to be detailed in all facets of financial planning and accommodate all aspects of the input process. The latter simply means that whenever a fork in the input crossroad is met, there would be a logical solution. Thus the need for a workaround would be minimal.

It also needed to be detailed in all areas, including income tax and estate planning. After narrowing it down to three finalists, I chose eMoney. Thus far I have not been disappointed in my choice. In addition, the training has been clear, concise and on target. In fact, the training is only limited by the end user. The initial training lasts 90 days and is a series of one-on-one phone sessions with a dedicated trainer. After that, the user has access to an informed help desk which, I am told, is just as helpful.

Having been a subscriber for a few months now, I have recently discovered a feature called Touchpoint.

Touchpoint is a system which allows an advisor to use any number of pre-defined processes such as a notice if total assets or liabilities increase or decrease by some stated parameter. An advisor user can also establish their own processes. For example, you can establish a periodic notification (you choose the frequency) where the system will send an email to all clients in a specified group to request a referral, thank the client or simply provide reassurance. This part of eMoney is a great way to keep your name in front of the client as well as keep your business processes flowing smoothly.

Beyond its robust planning capabilities, eMoney contains an encrypted, personalized client document storage center and a personalized website/portal where clients can retrieve a portion of a plan directly from the tool (I’ll share more on this later).

Best of all, the advisor chooses the client access parameters. This tool also links to their assets and liabilities – both internal and external – and updates the data daily. Yes, eMoney is everything I expected and then some.

I’ll keep you up to date as I learn more.
