What it’s like to travel from Liberia to the U.S. right now

An article published on Mashable details how NPR producer Rebecca Hersher, who has been reporting on Ebola in Liberia, returned to the U.S.

Hersher tweeted about her experience and each step of the process from Liberia’s Roberts International Airport to an airport in Washington and then Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

The article contains screenshots of Hersher’s tweets: from a questionnaire about her symptoms or contact with Ebola, to washing her hands with chlorinated water and having her temperature taken twice before boarding the plane.

The NPR producer’s plane made a stop in Brussels, where she didn’t receive another health screening, but was checked for her electronics, before boarding another plane bound for Washington, D.C. After landing at Dulles, the customs agents alerted the incoming flight from Liberia that a CDC person would talk to them.
