With tensions over abortion high at home, the abortion debate seems to be rearing its head on the international front as well. Similar to the Texas bill the house passed a few weeks back, Chile does not allow for abortion even in cases of rape or incest. But Chile’s rule is, at least, cut and dry not relying on faulty science like the use of rape kits to prevent pregnancy as the Texas bill does. Should an abortion not be an option on the table for an 11-year-old girl who conceived the child while being repeatedly raped? Chile and Texas think so.
