Congress cannot seem to agree on what to do about the interest rate tied to Stafford student loans and it is not because there are no good plans, but rather because they cannot compromise. The House passed legislation, President Obama put in his two cents and a bi-partisan group of senators came up with another proposal. Now, any solution will have to be passed retroactively when they return from their well-deserved July 4 recess.
