MetLife launched MetLife Income GuardDisability Insurance, specifically designed to provide consumers with the ability to customize their coverage to meet specific needs. This more personalized level of protection includes features designed to meet the unique demands of a variety of specialized occupations, including most medical and dental professionals, pharmacists, attorneys, accountants and white collar executives. MetLife Income Guard offers physicians and dentists “Specialty your Occupation” coverage that addresses the consequences of not being able to perform the material and substantial duties of a chosen specialty at the time of claim (even if the professional is still able to work in a different occupation.) As an example, if a physician employed as a neurosurgeon were to become disabled and unable to perform the duties of his or her occupation at the time of claim, MetLife Income Guard could still provide that individual with the disability benefit, even if he or she eventually were able to start a successful new career.

OptifiNow launched its OptifiNow software for the insurance industry that simplifies the sales process with an all-in-one management solution. It automatically transfers new customers from lead tracking to a CRM database, and generates alerts for agents telling them when and how to follow up with current customers to sell new services or renew. It even provides agents with the option to send a customer underwriter approved marketing materials at the time of an alert. All the agent has to do is click one button and an email with a link to the marketing collateral is generated and sent. No more trips to a copy shop and envelope licking to increase sales numbers.
