After Hurricane Sandy shut down the U.S. stock exchange for two days, the inevitability of more storms to come and advances in technology, some are wondering if New York should remain the nation’s financial hub. Cleanup and rebuilding will put people to work, but replacement projects do not bring the same economic impact of new construction projects. And with so many people just trying to put their lives back together, it’s tough to say where voting lands on the priority lists of those who haven’t voted yet.
