For high earners, expiring tax cuts would hit hard

If the Bush era tax cuts are allowed expire, a majority of Americans will see their tax bill rise by about $3,700. But those with the highest incomes will take the biggest hit. For example, someone making more than $103,465 could see their after-tax income reduced by $12,819. That’s because those with higher incomes have benefitted the most from the tax cuts.
