Top Portfolio Products: New Portfolio Monitoring Service From BondDesk

Portfolio Products logoNew products introduced over the last week include a new portfolio monitoring service from BondDesk for its wealth management platform and two new strategic income funds from Manning & Napier.

In addition, SS&C Technologies announced the release of its Total Return 2012 technology platform.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) BondDesk Introduces New Portfolio Monitoring Service for Wealth Management Platform

BondDesk Group LLC announced Tuesday the availability of a new portfolio monitoring service for its BondWorks wealth management platform. A video highlighting its capabilities can be found at http://www.bonddeskgroup.com.

The service monitors clients’ holdings and alerts financial advisors through the platform and via e-mail to significant events such as bond ratings changes, price changes and redemptions.

2) Manning & Napier Launches Strategic Income Mutual Funds

Manning & Napier Fund recently announced the launch of the Manning & Napier Fund, Inc. Strategic Income Conservative Series (MSCBX) and the Manning & Napier Fund, Inc. Strategic Income Moderate Series (MSMSX), two mutual funds that feature a blend of stocks and bonds, and will target income-producing securities. Both invest in four underlying proprietary mutual funds that provide diversified exposure to dividend-paying equities, fixed income and real estate.

MSCBX offers a 15%–45% equity range, and MSMSX offers a 44%–75% equity range. Both funds are managed under the oversight of the firm’s senior research group. The funds will be offered with both a retail share class (S class) and institutional share class (I class) with investment minimums of $2,000 and $1 million, respectively.

3) SS&C Releases Total Return 2012 Technology Platform

SS&C Technologies announced Tuesday the general availability of Total Return 2012, an update to SS&C’s portfolio and partnership accounting and reporting platform for hedge funds, funds of funds and family offices. The enhancements will offer greater transparency for investors in line with increasing market requirements. The latest release of Total Return allows for processing and Microsoft SQL reporting at various levels of detail and frequency. Key features include the integration and automation of Form PF filing, enhanced incentive fee calculations and expansion of the fund of funds pricing history universe.

SS&C has integrated Total Return with its Form PF solution to provide an interactive web-based Form PF interface for clients to process and review data and electronically file with the SEC. In addition, Total Return provides a wide range of complex fee structures to calculate and analyze performance net of fees and expenses. Incentive fee calculation enhancements include the automation of high watermarks and hurdle rate calculations. With this release, Total Return offers an interface for analyzing and storing NAVs and capital balances for funds of funds and family offices investing in the private partnership space.
