Smart Tax Planning Now: 22 Days of Tax Planning Advice for 2012—Final Update

It’s tax season, and even for advisors who are not themselves tax preparers, it’s a very busy time of the year. For the second year in a row, AdvisorOne is here to help. We’re picking the brains of some of the top minds in tax planning to provide you with a separate article of tax planning advice for each business day of the month of March in our Special Report, 22 Days of Tax Planning Advice for 2012, beginning March 1.

(And remember, the deadline for filing income tax returns this year is Tuesday, April 17, since April 15 is a Sunday and because Emancipation Day, a holiday in the District of Columbia, is observed this year on Monday, April 16.)

We’ll be busy reporting and writing throughout the month, interviewing tax experts like Bernie Kiely and Marty Shenkman, and seeking the counsel of expert AdvisorOne contributors like Dan Skiles and advisor Mike Patton, to remind you of the steps you should be taking—and those you should be avoiding—to help your clients and your own businesses.

We’ll continue to keep a watch this month and beyond on the latest developments from your legislators and regulators that could affect your tax planning for the 2011 tax year, for guidance this year and in planning for future years, and deliver the latest updates from the IRS and tax court rulings. We’ve also partnered with Tax Facts Online, a publication of a sister company of ours at Summit Business Media, to present more in-depth content on tax topics in investing, employee benefits and insurance and retirement planning vehicles.

Below is our 22 Days calendar for the first seven business days of the month. Check back during the month for updates to our calendar, and look for a daily tax planning tip on AdvisorOne’s Daily Wire newsletter.
