Thanks to longer life spans and more later-in-life parents, the number of people who are caring for both their aging parents and growing children, known as the sandwich generation, continues to increase. And the trend is starting to take a toll on sandwich generation members, often draining theri time, finances and emotions. In some cases, it can lead to depression.
How are adults making it work? Some are relocating their parents to be closer to them. Others have their parents move in with them. And some continue to make things work long distance, often traveling frequently to visit.
