LPL Financial and Retirement Benefits Group Welcome Top Retirement Consultants Dan Dubois and Darin Wassmann
LPL Financial and Retirement Benefits Group (RBG), which provides retirement services to clients through LPL Financial, announced that Dan Dubois and Darin Wassmann have joined the firm. Dubois and Wassmann provide retirement guidance to institutional clients in the areas of plan design assistance, compliance and participant communication and education.
A 15-year veteran of the qualified plan marketplace, Wassmann currently services 30 retirement plans comprising $45 million in assets. He joins RBG as a managing director and will continue to operate from his office in Westlake Village, Calif.
Dubois, a leader in the financial services industry for over 25 years, is a leading specialist in designing, customizing and implementing association programs. Dubois will lead RBG’s affinity and association group marketing and service platform for retirement plans and will serve clients in Southern California from RBG’s San Diego office.
Putnam Names Stephen Jenks to Lead Product and Marketing Efforts for DC Business
Putnam Investments announced Monday that Stephen Jenks is the new head of product and marketing for its defined contribution business. In his new role, Jenks will focus on the positioning and expanded delivery of Putnam’s full-service and investment-only retirement offerings to the marketplace. Based in Boston, he will report directly to Edmund F. Murphy, III, director, defined contribution services.
Jenks joins from Acceleration Retirement LLC, where he served as CEO and was a cofounder. Prior to that, Jenks cofounded and served as managing director of a registered investment advisory firm, Stable Two Financial LLC, providing 401(k) plan consulting services to mid- to large-size sponsors. Earlier, he held several senior positions during a 16-year career at Fidelity Investments.
Retirement Sector Veteran Nevin Adams to Join EBRI
Nevin E. Adams, former global editor-in-chief of PLANSPONSOR magazine and its web counterpart PLANSPONSOR.com, will join the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) as director of education and external relations and co-director of EBRI’s center for research on retirement income with EBRI Research Director Jack VanDerhei.
Adams, to be based in Washington, has extensive experience in the retirement industry, having served in a series of senior management positions in both the defined benefit and defined contribution plan fields at Wachovia Bank and Northern Trust Corporation.
Prime Advisors Announces Promotion of Donald L. McDonald to CEO
Prime Advisors Inc. recently announced the promotion of Donald L. McDonald to CEO. McDonald joined Prime in May of 2009. A Princeton University graduate, McDonald served as executive vice president and chief investment officer of Jefferson Pilot Financial, which now is known as Lincoln Financial Corporation, and before that as president and chief investment officer of Conning Asset Management Company.
Hightower Names Ann Rieder Managing Director for Midwest Region
HighTower announced recently that Ann T. Rieder has joined the firm as a managing director responsible for HighTower’s Midwest territory. She is based in the firm’s Chicago headquarters and serves on HighTower’s diversity council.
Rieder brings more than 15 years of branch management and financial services experience to HighTower, having served at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney since 1996 in a number of senior management and national roles at offices across the U.S. Most recently, she managed the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney office in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, where she led a top private client and corporate services branch.
Barclays Adds 6 Advisors, 2 From BofA
Barclays Wealth said Friday that it recently hired six advisors, including one from Merrill Lynch and one from BofA-U.S. Trust in New York, Boston, Dallas and Miami; the combined assets under management for these six FAs is $3.3 billion, while their total yearly sales and commissions is $15 million.
