Look for four new indexes from NASDAQ beginning July 27. NASDAQ OMX will begin disseminating four new indexes Wednesday on the Global Index Data Service that track companies involved in the water industry.

The Global Water Index (GRNWATERL) and the US Water Index (GRNWATUSL) will track companies worldwide and in the United States, respectively, that make products designed for homes, businesses and industries to conserve and purify water.

The indexes are weighted to “enhance the underlying liquidity and increase the tradability of the index components,” according to the company.

Each index will be broken into two parts: the Price Return Index and the Total Return Index. The Price Return Index is calculated without regard to cash dividends, while the Total Return Index is calculated by reinvesting cash dividends on the ex-date.
