Employers that outsource absence management report that going outside helps with productivity and compliance, an absence management firm says.
Trion, King of Prussia, Pa., recently studied employers’ views of absence management surveys by conducting a survey of 118 U.S. employers with 5,000 to 300,000 employees.
Trion, an absence management consulting unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York (NYSE:MMC), found that 40% of the participating employers that had analyzed the effects of outsourcing absence management said the arrangements had helped improve productivity, and that 86% said the arrangements had helped improve compliance.
About 54% of the employers that had analyzed their absence management outsourcing programs reported a reduction in employee abuse of family medical leave policies.
