Pershing’s annual Insite Conference will take place June 8-10 at its traditional home, the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Fla., and the keynote speakers will feature several former world leaders, in addition to a host of sessions on investing, the economy and the markets.

Pershing says that as of May 26, 1,948 people—attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and speakers—are expected to attend the conference, up several hundred from the prior year. That number includes 1,300 Pershing customers, including advisors and broker-dealer home office personnel, up from 1,037 in 2010 and 1,069 in 2009.

AdvisorOne will be providing onsite coverage of the event from Florida. (Separate AdvisorOne staffers will be reporting from the Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago, which also runs from June 8-10.)

george w. bushThe kickoff speaker is George W. Bush (left), 43d President of the United States, on Wednesday afternoon, followed by a presentation by Richard Hoey, chief economist of BNY Mellon and Dreyfus, focusing on the economic outlook for the U.S. and globally for this year and next.

Later on Wednesday afternoon, Pershing Chairman Rich Brueckner moderates a panel discussion on Dodd-Frank with Ann Costello, government affairs managing director for BNY Mellon, along with representatives from the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) and FINRA.

On Thursday morning, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown speaks, while Brueckner returns in the afternoon to moderate a session called “View From the Top” featuring the CEO of Legg Mason, Mark Fetting; the CEO of Lincoln Financial, Dennis Glass; and the Chairman and CEO of BNY Mellon, Robert Kelly.

The Friday morning headliner is New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick.

Among the regular contributors to AdvisorOne speaking at the conference are Mark Tibergien, CEO of Pershing Advisor Solutions (and a long-time columnist for Investment Advisor); Spenser Segal of ActiFi; and Dan Inveen and Eliza De Pardo of FA Insight.

Look for ongoing reporting of the sessions and interviews with top Pershing executives during the conference.
