Guardian Life Insurance Company of America has been using a charitable donation incentive program to encourage employees to suggest the names of good candidates for the company’s field sales team.

Guardian, New York, counted the number of employee’s leads that resulted in new agency network hires.

The top three employee agent referrers had a chance to direct the payment of a total of $20,000 in charitable contributions.

Ryan Clark, the winner of the referral competition, will be using the program to donate $10,000 to a private school in Salt Lake City, Guardian says.

The second place and third place winners will each direct $5,000 in charitable contributions.

The program brings agents into Guardian while helping local communities, according to David Simkowitz, the company’s field executive committee president.
