Members of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) have elected Adam Hamm, the North Dakota insurance commissioner, to be the group’s new secretary-treasurer.
The NAIC, Kansas City, Mo., held a special meeting via conference call to elect Hamm to succeed Illinois Insurance Director Michael McRaith.
McRaith is leaving Illinois and the NAIC secretary-treasurer post to become the first director of the new Federal Insurance Office, an arm of the U.S. Treasury Department.
Hamm became North Dakota commissioner in October 2007.
