Personnel Changes: AIG, Lincoln, WellPoint, Farmers, Molina, Trustmark, Premier Healthcare

AIG Inc., N.Y., has hired Elizabeth Werner to be vice president and head of investor relations.

Werner previously was a director focusing on insurance stocks and real estate investment trusts at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Charlotte, N.C.

Werner has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Lincoln Financial Group, Philadelphia, has named Anand Rao to be vice president of digital strategy and user experience.

Rao previously was a principal at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, a division of Pricewaterhouse Coopers L.L.P., N.Y.

Rao has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Pune and a master’s degree in environmental engineering and business administration from Illinois Institute of Technology and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, has promoted Nicholas (Nick) Brecker to be specialty market president for California local group, national accounts, consumer business and Unicare business segments and has named Patrick (Pat) Murphy to be president and general manager of life and disability.

Brecker previously was president and general manger of life and disability at WellPoint, while Murphy previously was CFO for WellPoint’s information technology team.

Farmers New World Life Insurance Company, a division owned by Zurich Financial Services Group, Zurich Switzerland, has named Jerry Carnahan to be President and CEO at Farmers New World Life in Mercer, Wash., effective March 1st.

Carnahan will resume the role previously held by Tom White, who will now be CEO of general insurance for Zurich Financial Services new office in Tokyo.

Carnahan previously was executive vice president of field operations at Farmers.

Molina Healthcare Inc., Long Beach, Calif., has hired Craig Bass to be president of Molina Healthcare of Michigan Inc.

Bass previously was Medicaid regional vice president at Aetna, Hartford, Conn.

Bass has a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Indiana University and a master’s degree in hospital and health care administration from the University of Minnesota.

Trustmark Voluntary Benefits Solutions, Lake Forest, Ill. has hired Marcia Oyster to be regional sales director of the Mid-Central territory.

Oyster will work with benefits brokers who serve employer groups in Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan.

Oyster previously was a work site sales representative for a unit of Highmark Inc., Pittsburgh.

Premier Healthcare Exchange Inc., Bedminster, N.J., has hired William g. Schneider to be vice president of partner development.
