About 88% of women think buying life insurance that names a loved one as the beneficiary is a good way to express love for that loved one.

The Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE), Arlington, Va., has published that finding in a summary of results from a new survey.

LIFE did not say how many people participated in the survey, but it says 83% of all consumers surveyed, and 77% of the men polled, agreed that providing life insurance is a good way to express love.

LIFE released the survey results in conjunction with its 2011 Valentine’s Day consumer education campaign.

LIFE is trying to trying to use the campaign to draw attention to the fact that 30% of U.S. households have no life insurance.
