More Americans would prefer to talk to financial professional in 2011 than sign up for a personal trainer and gym membership, according to Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.
Allianz Life, Golden Valley, Minn., a unit of Allianz S.E., Munich, Germany, has published figures supporting that conclusion in a summary of results from a November 2010 survey of 1,000 U.S. adults.
When asked which type of professional service provider they would most like to use in 2011, 44% of the survey participants chose a financial professional.
Only 26% said they would like to use a personal trainer/
When asked about the 2011 resolutions they would be most likely to keep, 39% said managing money better, and 40% said improving exercise and diet.
But only 33% of the participants said they would actually include a financial plan in their list of 2011 resolutions.
The chief reason given for not including a financial plan was, “I don’t make enough money to worry about it.”
