The board of directors for the American Academy of Actuaries has elected David Sandberg, vice president and corporate actuary for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, its president-elect.
“The academy membership includes more than 17,000 actuaries, and the president-elect position demands tremendous leadership,” says Allianz Life Chief Actuary Neil McKay. “Dave will help further their mission with public policy as well as maintain and advance the integrity of the actuarial profession.”
In the academy, Sandberg has held leadership positions, including a five-year run as a member of the board. For two of those years, Sandberg acted as vice president of its Life Practice Council. As Sandberg takes on his new position, he will spend one year as president-elect and one year as president.
