Michael C. Keenan, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, was honored as the 2010 John Newton Russell Memorial Award recipient for 2010 during a special brunch reception on Tuesday during the NAIFA 2010 annual meeting in Seattle.

The award is the most significant honor accorded by the life insurance industry to a living individual who has rendered outstanding services to the institution of life insurance “above and beyond the call of duty.”

Keenan, shown here on the main stage with wife Libby, entered the life insurance business in 1961 with Prudential and is currently in his 50th year with the company. In 1971 he qualified for MDRT and remains a life member today. The Evanston, Ill., resident also serves as Senior Vice President of the Life and Health Insurance (LIFE) Foundation for Education in Arlington, Va., and has been locally and nationally involved with NAIFA, where he is estimated to have recruited more than 1,000 new members to the organization. He is also famous for his fund-raising acumen.

Life Insurance Selling joins the rest of the industry in congratulating Mr. Keenan on earning this prestigious honor.
