Genworth Wins Kansas LTC Contract

Kansas has chosen Genworth Life Insurance Company to offer group long term care insurance coverage to state employees, retirees and dependents.

The LTC insurance program will be available to more than 49,000 employees and retirees who belong to the Kansas state employee plan and those enrollees’ family members, according to Genworth Life, part of Genworth Financial Inc., Richmond, Va. (NYSE:GNW).

The cost of a year of home care in Kansas averages $41,481, and the median annual cost of a private nursing home room in the state is $56,575, according to the latest Genworth cost-of-care survey.

The average cost of a single bedroom in an assisted living facility in Kansas is $40,800.
