Personnel Changes: Lincoln, Allianz, WellCare, Aartrijk

Lincoln Financial Distributors has named Peter Sims national sales manager for the 401(k) plan business.

Lincoln Financial Distributors, the distribution arm of Lincoln National Corp., Radnor, Pa. (NYSE:LNC), intends for the defined contribution retirement programs to be a “target growth area,” and it plans to increase the size of 401(k) sales teams 50%, the company says. Lincoln sells a group variable annuity retirement program under the Lincoln Director brand and a program that uses mutual funds and collective trusts under the Lincoln SmartFuture brand.

Sims previously was a national sales manager for the wirehouse and bank channel at Lincoln’s annuity business. He also has served as national sales manager for the Delaware Investments unit.

In other personnel news:

- Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, Golden Valley, Minn., a unit of Allianz S.E., Munich, Germany, has hired Jeannee Hoppe to be senior director of market management and product innovation and Debra Repya to be senior director of advanced markets.

Hoppe previously developed the strategic sourcing department at Ameriprise Financial Inc., Minneapolis (NYSE:AMP).

Hoppe has a bachelor’s degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn., and a master’s degree in management from the University of Minnesota.

Repya previously was a senior advanced strategies counsel in the business development center at Securian Financial Group, St. Paul.

Repya has a bachelor’s degree in English and German from Augustana College. She also has a master’s degree in educational counseling from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a law degree from Hamline. She holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.

- WellCare Health Plans Inc., Tampa, Fla. (NYSE:WCG), has hired Dr. Ann Wehrto be chief medical officer.

Wehr previously was president of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico, a unit of Molina Healthcare Inc., Long Beach, Calif.

Wehr has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and a medical degree from Ohio State University. She is board certified in internal medicine.

- Aartrijk Group L.L.C., Springfield, Va., an insurance marketing firm, has hired Rick Morgan to be vice president of new media. Morgan previously owned an insurance agency in Boulder, Colo., and was editor and publisher of The Automated Agency Report.

- Aite Group L.L.C., Boston, has hired Sophie Schmitt to be a senior analyst on the wealth management team. She is handling topics such as financial advisor segmentation.
