Genworth Financial Inc. has gotten good results from a new Facebook parenthood fan page.
The “Genworth Celebrates Parents” page already has 12,000 fans, and the fans have shared more than 800 stories, according to Genworth, Richmond, Va. (NYSE:GNW).
An older Genworth Facebook page, the “Genworth Celebrates Caregivers page, has 7,500 fans, and those fans have shared 2,000 stories.
Genworth boosted the parents page in May with a national television ad with a Mother’s Day theme, and now the company is mentioning the page in a national TV ad with a Father’s Day theme.
The company is asking visitors to share stories about times when their parents came through for them, “when it mattered most.”
Genworth began reaching out to consumers through Facebook in February 2009 and began advertising the site in November 2009.
