Personnel Changes: CFP Board, Great-West, Sun Life, Others

Great-West Retirement Services has named Gary Biesiadecki regional director for central U.S. public/nonprofit business.

Biesiadecki has been a senior manager at the PNP field operation, according to Great-West, Greenwood Village, Colo., a unit of Power Corp. of Canada, Montreal.

Biesiadecki has a bachelor’s degree from Richmond College and a master’s degree from the University of Colorado, Denver.

In other personnel changes news:

- The Wellesley Hills, Mass., U.S. division of Sun Life Financial Inc., Toronto, has named Douglas Gosney regional vice president of group insurance distribution for the Southern U.S. territory.

Gosney, who will be based in Houston, has been a regional vice president in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. sales territories for Sun Life.

- Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky. (NYSE:HUM), has promoted Mark El-Tawil to regional chief executive officer for Humana’s West region commercial operations.

El-Tawil previously was president of commercial operations in Arizona and Nevada.

El-Tawil has a bachelor’s degree in business from Central Michigan University.

- Unum Group Corp, Chattanooga, Tenn. (NYSE:UNM), has promoted several executives to senior vice president, from vice president. They include Mike Temple, the company’s chief risk officer; Vicki Corbett, the controller; Kevin McMahon, the treasurer; Scott Maker, the chief government affairs officer; Tim Arnold, head of integrated underwriting at Unum US; Don Boutin of the national client group at Unum US; and Diane Garofalo.

Garofalo will be senior vice president of long term disability and individual disability benefits. She previously was vice president of benefits operations.

- Aon Consulting, an arm of Aon Corp., Chicago (NYSE:AON), has hired Mark Stadler to be a senior vice president and business development leader for the Central West region; Richard Kantor to be a senior vice president and global human capital consultant; and Kathleen Strukoff to be a senior vice president and key account manager in Nevada.
