Mike Masterson named CEO of Sammons Enterprises, Inc.

Sammons Enterprises, Inc., Dallas, has appointed Mike Masterson as chief executive officer of Sammons Enterprises. In addition to his new role and responsibilities, Masterson will continue to serve as chairman and CEO of Sammons Financial Group, which is based in Chicago and has offices in Ann Arbor, Mich., Des Moines, Iowa, Fargo, N.D. and Sioux Falls, S.D.

“During his long tenure with the company, Mike has proven that he is a trusted and well-respected leader with proven business acumen and a commitment to the integrity and ethics of Sammons’ value-based culture,” said Chairman Robert W. Korba, Sammons Enterprises.

Masterson joined the Sammons family of companies in 1995 and has held various positions including chairman, CEO and president of Midland National and North American and president of the Sammons Financial Group. He began his career in the insurance business with Connecticut General, where he spent 16 years in the field before joining the corporate office as chief marketing officer. Masterson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Executive Program, the Harvard Executive Program in Competitive Strategies, and the LIMRA Leadership Institute. He has also earned his CLU, ChFC, and LLIF designations and has been a member of various industry boards, including the LIMRA International Board, the National Endowment for Financial Education and the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Board.
