Personnel Changes: Farmers New World, Great-West, Others

Farmers New World Life Insurance Company has hired Katherine Cody to be a senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Cody previously was leader of the alternative retirement solutions line at a unit of Phoenix Companies Inc., Hartford, according to Farmers New World Life, Seattle, a unit of Zurich Financial Services, Zurich.

Cody has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Syracuse University. She holds the Certified Public Accountant professional designation.

In other personnel news:

- Great-West Retirement Services, Greenwood Village, Colo., a unit of Power Corp. of Canada, Montreal, has promoted Cindy Knight to regional sales director.

Knight, who previously worked in internal sales at Great-West, will hande 401(k) plan distribution in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming.

Knight has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in business from Regis University. She holds the Accredited Pension Administrator professional designation.

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., has hired Jason Carlough to be managing director for the Metropolitan New York City Region and Dan Kretz to be director, sales and busness development, for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Carlough previously was a regional vice president and retirement plan counselor at American Funds Distributors Inc., Los Angeles. He has a bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College.

Kretz was a senior benefit and planning counselor with a unit of Principal Financial Group Inc., Des Moines, Iowa. He has a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.

- Fiduciary Counselors Inc., Washington, has hired Mary Ann Arlt to be senior vice president, plan administration.

Arlt previously was a senior vice president in the Aon Human Capital Services unit of Aon Consulting, an arm of Aon Corp., Chicago.

Arlt has a law degree from Stetson University. She has been chair of the Association of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Contractholders and a member of the Task Force on Book Value Accounting for Guaranteed Investment Contracts in Defined Contribution Plans at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York.
