Lynn Niedermeier has decided to retire, and she will step down from her positions as president and chief executive officer of INVEST Financial Corp., the firm says.

Niedermeier has been president and CEO of INVEST, Tampa, Fla., since 2001.

INVEST is a division of National Planning Holdings Inc., Santa Monica, Calif., a broker-dealer unit of Jackson National Life Insurance Company, Lansing, Mich.

Jackson National is an arm of Prudential P.L.C., London.

“My decision to retire was a difficult one to make, but I feel it is necessary to focus my energy on certain personal issues at this time,” Niedermeier says in a statement about her decision to leave INVEST.

Jim Livingston, president of NPH, will take over Niedermeier’s responsibilities on an interim basis, INVEST says.
