WellPoint Inc. has awarded a communications support contract to Affiliated Computer Services Inc.
Affiliated, Dallas, will handle printing, mailroom, member fulfillment and outbound member communication services for health plans operated by WellPoint, Indianapolis.
Affiliated expects to manage more than 1 billion documents per year for WellPoint.
In other insurance industry contract news, the Austen Riggs Center, Stockbridge, Mass., a psychiatric care facility, has hired the retirement services division of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., to help it run a defined benefit retirement plan with $7 million in assets under management.
Earlier, Austen Riggs awarded MassMutual a contract to administer a 403(b) retirement plan with 130 participants and $5 million in assets.
