The New York Life Foundation has awarded a 3-year, $600,000 grant to an organization that runs camps for children mourning the deaths of parents, siblings or other close relatives.

The Moyer Foundation, Seattle, will use the grant to expand the Camp Erin camps, according to the New York Life Foundation, which is an affiliate of New York Life Insurance Company, New York.

The 28 existing camps served about 2,000 children in 2009, the Moyer Foundation says.
