Personnel Changes: NAVA, N.Y. Life, Others

NAVA Inc. has hired Chris Paulitz to be vice president of communications and public affairs.

Paulitz has been communications department director for Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, and a senior advisor and communications director for Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio. He also has been press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, Washington.

In other personnel news:

- New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has hired Lance LaVergne to be vice president and chief diversity officer.

LaVergne succeeds Katherine O’Brien, who is now a first vice president and deputy general counsel in the Office of the General Counsel.

LaVergne previously was global head of campus and experienced hire diversity recruiting at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., New York.

LaVergne has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a master’s degree in business from New York University.

- The consulting arm of Aon Corp., Chicago, has promoted Daniel Russell, James Ritchie, Nina Zazzara, Kristine Klepper and Rich Walsh to senior vice president.

Russell is in the human capital practice in Atlanta; James Ritchie, in the retirement practice in Baltimore; Nina Zazzara, in the health and benefits practice in Parsippany, N.J.; Kristine Klepper, in the health and benefits practice in Somerset, N.J., and Rich Walsh, in the key account manager group in Winston-Salem, N.C.
