Marketing analysts at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., have published that finding in a summary of results of a Web-based November 2008 survey of 2,119 U.S. adults.

About 20% of the survey participants admitted to taking something – such as pens, plants or toilet paper — that did not belong to them when they left their jobs

But the MassMutual researchers found that only 39% have some form of disability insurance, and only about 10% have portable supplemental disability insurance.

About 72% of the survey participants said they want to buy portable supplemental disability income insurance, and 69% said they would be at least somewhat likely to buy portable supplemental disability income insurance if the product were offered at a corporate discount of 25%.
