The disability products arm of a large insurer is highlighting the help it can provide with administering sick leave, government-required leave and other types of leave.

A unit of MetLife Inc., New York, has introduced the MetLife Total Absence Management Solution program.

The program will provide a single point of leave intake and detailed tracking reports, and it will handle more types of leaves than MetLife programs handled in the past, the company says.

Types of leave covered include federal and state family and medical leave, disability leave, company-sponsored medical leave, military leave, jury duty, witness leave, bereavement leave and sabbatical leave.

Customers with 1,000 or more employees that have MetLife insured group disability can implement the new program with effective dates of Jan. 1, 2010, MetLife says.
