An insurer has introduced a health plan aimed at Windy City businesses with 2 to 50 eligible employees.

Aetna Inc., Hartford, says the new Aetna Illinois Community Plan will cost about 25% less than comparable Aetna small group plans.

The plan will hold costs down by offering 3 tiers of providers, including a smaller, less expensive “community network” tier.

Co-payments are waived for plan members who use the community network providers to get well-baby exams, immunizations, child exams, and other preventive care.

The plan also covers care delivered through walk-in clinics.

Aetna is selling the plan through insurance brokers to members and member affiliates of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chicago.

Aetna notes that any small business can join the Illinois Hispanic Chamber.
