A unit of MetLife Inc. has enlisted a famous fictional receptionist to get workers interested in signing up for employee benefits.

MetLife, New York, says Lucy Davis, who played Dawn Tinsley in the BBC version of “The Office,” recently helped greet commuters passing through Chicago’s Union Station.

The event, held to promote interest in employer open enrollment programs, encouraged commuters to gather around a 15-foot inflatable water cooler and try MetLife’s new Employee Benefits Simplifier Web tool.
