A Canadian financial services company has picked a well-known executive to take a senior management position.

Sun Life Financial Inc., Toronto, has hired Jon Boscia, 56, the former chief executive officer of Lincoln National Corp., Philadelphia, to become president of Sun Life Financial.

Boscia, who will be based in Wellesley Hills Mass., the home of Sun Life Financial U.S. will be responsible for all of Sun Life’s U.S. operations other than Massachusetts Financial Services Company. He also will oversee worldwide marketing, Lincoln Financial says.

Boscia retired from Lincoln in August 2007.

Westley Thompson, another Lincoln veteran, will become president of Sun Life Financial U.S., and Terrence Mullen, a third Lincoln veteran, will become president of Sun Life Financial Distributors Inc.

Mullen will oversee distribution of employee benefits as well as of life insurance and annuity products.

Robert Salipante, who has been running the U.S. operations, will become president of Sun Life Financial International and will work out of Sun Life’s corporate office in Toronto, Sun Life Financial says.
