Shareholders other than MetLife Inc. now control Reinsurance Group of America Inc.

MetLife, New York, has completed previously announced plans to dispose of its majority interest in RGA, Chesterfield, Mo., through a stock swap.

MetLife reports that it still owns 3 million of the 33 million shares of RGA Class A stock still outstanding.

There are also 29 million shares of Class B RGA stock on the market.

The Class A RGA stock will trade under the stock symbol RGA.A, the Class B RGA stock will trade under the symbol RGA.B.WI, and the old RGA symbol will be retired, RGA says.
