The Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans and its working groups will start 3 days of meetings in Washington Sept. 9.

The full council, often called the ERISA Advisory Council, will hear progress reports on the activities of the working groups and of the Employee Benefits Security Administration.

The working group sessions will cover phased retirement, spend-down of retirement asses, and hard-to-value assets. The hard-to-value assets working group also handles issues involving target-date investment funds.
