The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will bring a roundtable discussion on fair value accounting and auditing standards to its offices July 9.

One panel will focus on fair value accounting issues at large financial institutions, and the second will discuss fair value accounting issues from the perspective of all public companies, including small public companies, officials say.

James Tisch of Loews Corp., New York, the parent of CNA Financial Corp., Chicago, will participate in the first panel discussion.
