Personnel Changes: WellPoint, HRH, Others

WellPoint Inc. has named Daniel Corcoran president of the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield unit in Maine.

Corcoran succeeds Erin Hoeflinger, who is now president of Anthem Blue in Ohio, according to WellPoint, Indianapolis.

Corcoran has a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and master’s degrees in business and management information systems from Boston University.

Corcoran is a member of the board of the Greater Manchester YMCA.

In other personnel news:

- Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company, Richmond, Va., has hired David Arthur to be worksite benefits regional practice leader in its Cranford, N.J., office.

Arthur has a bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg State College.

- Sun Life Financial Inc., Toronto, has hired Melody Powell to be assistant vice president for diversity and inclusion for the U.S. operations based in Wellesley Hills, Mass.

Powell previously was vice president and head of global diversity at MasterCard Inc., Purchase, N.Y.

- Lockton Companies L.L.C., Kansas City, Mo., has hired Dr. John Esslinger to be medical director for the Lockton Benefit Group unit.

Esslinger previously was a medical director at WellCare Health Plans Inc., Tampa, Fla. He also has been chief of neonatology and vice president of medical affairs at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Esslinger has a master’s degree in medical management from Tulane University and a medical degree from the University of Minnesota.

Esslinger is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and in neonatal-perinatal medicine
