A longtime insurance regulator is getting ready to step down.

Peg Ising, who has been deputy director of the Ohio Department of Insurance Department since May 2006, plans to retire Feb. 1, department officials report.

Ising has worked for the department for 24 years. She now is responsible for overseeing fraud, enforcement and licensing; product regulation; market conduct; and consumer services.

Once Ising retires, Bill Rossbach will take responsibility for the functions that Ising has been overseeing, officials say.

The department will promote Rossbach to chief regulatory officer, from assistant director of financial regulation.

Rossbach holds the Certified Financial Examiner professional designation and has worked for the Ohio department for 31 years.
