Contracts: ValueOptions, Coventry

The Illinois Department of Human Services’s mental health division has picked ValueOptions Inc. to manage mental health care for 166,000 members of state health plans.

ValueOptions, Norfolk, Va., will be managing $380 million in spending on community-based and hospital-based mental health services, the company says.

In other contracts news:

- Coventry Health Care Inc., Bethesda, Md., has won a contract to provide health insurance for about 50,000 retirees served by the Pennsylvania Employee Benefit Trust Fund.

Coventry will start administering the contract, through a Medicare Advantage private fee-for-service plan, April 1, the company says.

The plan will offer access to a 24-hour nurse line, voluntary disease and case management programs, and wellness and risk assessment programs, Coventry says.
