The owners of the Resource Group L.C. have agreed to sell the company to a large commercial insurance broker.
Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company, Richmond, Va., hopes to acquire almost all of the assets of TRG, Overland Park, Kan., Aug. 1.
Hilb Rogal is not saying how much it is paying for TRG, which is in a suburb of Kansas City, Mo.
A group of 6 producers founded the firm in 1996.
TRG now generates more than $5 million in annual revenue by selling group health insurance, ancillary benefits, retirement programs, executive insurance and financial services, Hilb Rogal says.
TRG has 37 employees. After Hilb Rogal completes the TRG acquisition, the TRG employees will stay in the office in Overland Park, Hilb Rogal says.
