Voluntary Benefits Sales Rose 8% In 2006

Worksite sales of voluntary employee benefits rose to more than $4.7 billion in 2006, an 8% increases over the 2005 to, according to Eastbridge Consulting Group Inc.

During the previous 3 years, worksite sales grew at an annual rate of only 1% to 3%, according to Eastbridge, Avon, Conn.

Sales growth at the top 15 companies in the worksite market accounted for about 75% of market growth. Sales at those companies grew about 10% in 2006, Eastbridge reports.

Most worksite benefits carriers that reported any sales growth showed double-digit increases.
