The Employee Benefits Security Administration is easing deadlines for employers affected by the recent flooding in Kansas.

Employers with Form 5500 and Form 5500 EZ benefit plan filings due between May 4 and July 5 can turn the filings in on July 5, EBSA officials say.

Plan filers who need the extension should check Part I, Box D on the Form 5500 or Part I on Form 5500-EZ and attach a flood extension statement to the form.

Plan administrators and employers that are outside Kansas but are unable to get necessary information because of the flooding also are eligible for the Form 5500 filing extension, officials say.
