A major Wall Street firm has reassigned the analyst who has been covering the U.S. life sector.

Bear, Stearns & Company Inc., New York, says it is withdrawing analyst coverage of the U.S. life sector because it is making Saul Martinez its Latin American financial services analyst.

Martinez has been covering the U.S. life insurance industry for Bear Stearns since November 2003. Earlier, he covered Latin American banks for Bear Stearns.

Martinez has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University.
