The Phoenix Companies Inc. is improving work-life benefits for its own employees.

Phoenix, Hartford, says it now will provide 3 weeks of paid paternity leave and increase its adoption reimbursement to $9,000, from $5,000. Phoenix also will provide $10,000 for the adoption of a special needs child, and it will increase paid leave for employees who adopt to 3 weeks, from 1 week.

The new benefits are available to employees with at least 1 year of service, Phoenix says.
