An insurer is offering more generous issue limits for neurosurgeons, cardiologists and other practitioners of “invasive” medical specialties.

Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, says its Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America unit will be increasing the issue limit to $12,500 per month for the invasive specialties, and to $15,000 for physiatrists.

The higher issue limits will be available to doctors who apply through Guardian’s telemedicine underwriting operation, the company says.
