The MDRT Foundation has organized a group of 45 volunteers that built a 12,000-square-foot, $75,000 playground for children in Eight Mile Rock, a community in the Bahamas.

The community was hit hard by hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, and Anthony Longley, a member of the MDRT, Park Ridge, Ill., who lives in the Bahamas, told the foundation that the community had not received any help with community park development, according to the MDRT Foundation.

The volunteers who built the playground came from the Bahamas, Belgium, Sri Lanka, and Trinidad and Tobago as well as from the United States, the foundation says.
